Door glass
Broken side window in Tampa Bay
Side windows go most often to break-ins, at a beach lot on Clearwater Beach, a game-night garage or an apartment complex overnight. That glass is tempered and shatters into small cubes, which end up in the door panel, under the seats and in the window track. We fit the new window at your car and vacuum out what we can reach.
Before we arrive, keep the opening covered. A storm can blow in sideways in minutes here, and a soaked door panel or carpet takes days to dry in this humidity. Clear plastic and painter's tape will do for a short drive; on the interstate it tends to tear loose.
Door glass we replace
- Front and rear door windows on sedans, SUVs, vans and pickups
- Text a photo of the window and the door sticker to (877) 350-5962 and we can pin down the part sooner
Back glass
Rear glass for cars, SUVs and pickups
We are talking about the back window of a vehicle here. That glass has the defroster lines in it and on many cars the radio antenna as well, so after the new glass is in, the technician plugs both back in and tests them before packing up.
In Tampa Bay, rear glass mostly breaks from a wind-thrown branch, a break-in or a hatch closed on cargo. An SUV liftgate, a sedan back window and a pickup slider are all different parts, so tell us the body style when you ask for a quote. Your policy's comprehensive deductible applies to back glass.
Sunroof glass
Sunroofs and glass roofs
Sunroof glass gets replaced at your home too: tilt-and-slide sunroof panels, the big fixed panels of a panoramic roof, and the all-glass roofs on many electric cars. The panel is set and sealed in the same visit.
Two notes first. A roof that won't open or close because a motor, cable or track has failed is a job for a sunroof mechanic, and we'll tell you that up front. And like door and back glass, a sunroof claim on a Florida policy goes under your normal deductible; we check the number with you before scheduling.
Fleet
Company vehicles around the bay
Contractor trucks, delivery vans and service cars put in more miles on I-4 and I-75 than most, and their windshields show it. We replace glass at your yard, your office lot or the job site, so the vehicle stays on the schedule. Send a list of the vehicles and where each one parks overnight, and we quote them one by one.
Mobile service
The places we work in Tampa Bay
Homes and driveways
From bungalows in Seminole Heights to new builds in Wesley Chapel. A garage helps in storm season.
Apartments and condos
Pass along the gate code or call box name, and any vendor sign-in the leasing office asks for.
Westshore and downtown offices
Surface lots and garage levels with room overhead. Tell us the garage name and level.
HOA neighborhoods
New Tampa, Westchase and FishHawk communities often have rules for vendors. Check them before we come.
Yards and job sites
For fleet glass: level ground, clear of forklifts and running equipment.
Glass can't go in wet. If a storm is building and there is no cover, we pick a new time with you.
Other glass questions from Tampa Bay
Unsure which piece of glass it is? Text a photo to (877) 350-5962 or call (727) 270-8521.
Can you replace the little fixed window near the rear pillar?
No. That small piece is quarter glass, and we no longer replace it. We do windshields, door windows, back glass and sunroof glass.
My window is fine but won't go up. Can you help?
Not if the glass is whole. A failed regulator or window motor is a mechanical repair, and that isn't work we take on.
Does Florida's windshield law cover my side window too?
No. § 627.7288 is written for the windshield. Door, back and sunroof glass go under the deductible your policy sets.
Will my defroster and antenna work after a new back glass?
The new glass has its own defroster grid. The technician reconnects it and any antenna lead and tests both before leaving. If something we installed fails later, our lifetime workmanship warranty covers our workmanship and defects in the glass we install, for as long as you own the vehicle.
